Modern comfort, warm Muar hospitality

A small, modern property with a boutique feel rather than the anonymity of a large chain. Interiors are clean and current, built around neutral finishes and light, and the rooms are kept practical: a good bed, a working desk, a private bathroom, and nothing extra to trip over with a suitcase in hand.

The setting in Pusat Komersial Sialin along Jalan Bakri suits several kinds of stay. Guests come for a short visit to Muar, for work in the surrounding commercial area, for family occasions in town, and for overnight stops on longer journeys through Johor.

What holds it together is a simple idea: a comfortable, well-run place to stay, priced sensibly, in a part of Muar that keeps the town close without the constant noise of its centre.

Someone is always at the desk

The front desk operates 24 hours a day. Whether the plan is a 2 a.m. arrival or a 6 a.m. departure, there is someone to hand over a key card or settle a bill, and no part of the building goes quiet in a way that leaves a guest stranded in the lobby.

Housekeeping services rooms daily. Room service is available if you would rather not go out, and a wake-up call can be arranged at the desk for early starts. Ironing service is on hand when a shirt needs to look like it did not spend the night in a bag. An elevator serves the upper floors, which helps with luggage and with guests who prefer not to take stairs.

Anything else, ask at reception or call +60 6-954 5585. Straight answers are the house style, and the team would rather tell you what the hotel does not have than let you discover it at midnight.

Facilities

Three parts to the property: the room itself, the shared spaces you pass through on the way in and out, and the services that run behind both of them. None of them are elaborate, and all of them are meant to hold up on an ordinary Tuesday as well as on a busy weekend.

In your room

Air conditioning, a private bathroom with shower, bidet, hot water, complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. A flat-screen television with cable channels, a work desk, an electric kettle and tea and coffee making facilities. Free Wi-Fi reaches the rooms as well as the shared areas.

All rooms are non-smoking, and family rooms are available for guests travelling together. The fit-out is deliberately restrained: enough surfaces for a suitcase and a laptop, and not so much furniture that a room stops feeling like somewhere to rest.

Around the hotel

A communal lobby with seating and a water dispenser for refilling bottles before heading out. An elevator connects the floors, with upper floors accessible by lift, and wheelchair-accessible units are available at the property.

The surrounding commercial area holds shops, eateries, cafes and laundromats, all independent businesses not operated by the hotel. Between them they cover the ordinary needs of a trip without anyone having to drive into town for it.

For a smooth stay

A 24-hour front desk, daily housekeeping, room service, wake-up service and ironing service. Entry is by key card, smoke alarms are fitted, and CCTV covers the common areas and the outside of the property.

For questions about current parking options in the surrounding area, please contact the hotel directly before arrival. The team would rather answer honestly in advance than leave anyone circling the block with a boot full of luggage.

If anything here does not match the shape of your trip, a phone call to reception usually settles it faster than an email.

Make 52 your base in Muar
